Rebecca paints using a gouache resist technique. Process and risk are really important to her and the method can give surprising results. Rebecca first paints in gouache and once it is dry sprays Indian Ink over the image. Once this layer has also dried, then washes the whole piece with slow running water, carefully brushing away the excess paint and ink. It sometimes feels more like developing a photograph than painting a picture. The gouache and the ink will stain the paper and leave a unique impression of the original work.
All materials will be provided for use on the day.
