Can you help fund Mike’s 3D PPE?
Studley resident and isolation volunteer Mike Lowe has found an amazing way of helping our courageous frontline key workers to care for coronavirus patients without compromising their own safety.
Mike recently discovered a design for a headband that helps to fit the potentially life-saving face masks that are so needed for frontline staff every day as they go to work to care for Coronavirus patients.
Using his own 3D printer Mike started to print the vizors at home, and after posting a picture on his Facebook page he was contacted by numerous local NHS workers, first responders, and carers who were desperate for supplies.
Mike now wants to print as many of these headbands to meet demand but he needs a bigger printer to be able to do that. So on the evening of Saturday 4th April he set up a Go Fund Me page to raise some funds. within hours the Studley community was firmly behind him and he had smashed his initial target!
Now, Mike is continuing to fundraise and keep making these simple but life-saving headbands and if you would like to support him you can donate via this link.
