Our Studley Story….

Have you lived in Studley for a long time? What do you love about the village? Do you have any anecdotes about your childhood here (did you get up to any mischief )

AJP, in partnership with Shakespeare’s England and Studley Sports and Social Club, will be running a ‘Welcome Back’ project this February called ‘Our Studley Story’ and we need your stories!

And do you have any fascinating ancestors?

And if you have any photos, we’d love to see those too!

Our aim is to reach out to the community and welcome you back to community events, by looking back at Studley’s history and bringing it to present day!

Using stories of Studley’s past (both ancient and recent) AJP will run a series of free Children’s Workshops during February Half Term (21st – 25th Feb, 9am – 3pm) for local young people to create a piece of theatre and also to write a song.

Working with our professionals, we’re inviting locals of any age to join our free Songwriting Workshop on Mon 21st Feb 1 – 3 pm to help write a song about Studley.

Working with local professional photographer Laurence Jones, young (and older!) photographers will work to recreate some of the images of Studley in times gone by and take candid photos of people living and working in the village. This free Photography Workshop will take place Tues 22nd Feb 1 – 3 pm.

As part of the week, there will also be two special evening events which are free to attend;

On Tues 22nd Feb at 6:30 pm, we’ll be hosting an ‘In Conversation with…’ event, chatting to some of our local residents who have an interesting story to tell about their lives.

On Wed 23rd Feb at 6:30pm, we’ll have a ‘Fireside History Talk’ with some of our local historians.

And then on Friday 25th Feb at 6:30pm, there will be a final celebratory performance event where our young actors will share their performance pieces, we’ll present a photography display, the newly written song and screen the documentary we’ve made with the help of AV Interactive. There will be a small entrance fee to this event which includes a drink and a snack.

It’s ‘Our Studley Story’ and we hope you’ll share it with us.
